A Game of Thrones is the first book in A Song of Ice and Fire which is a series of high fantasy novels by George R. R. Martin. If you don’t have 3,000 years to read them, it’s cool–I have you covered.

Start with this handy dandy cheat sheet so you know what characters belong to what house and who is still alive.

Let’s pause here real quick and reflect on House Stark motto, “Winter is coming.” I’m fairly convinced winter is never coming. Maybe in season 4. Anyway, it sounds terrible. Everyone is freezing as it is.

So let’s play who is your favorite character/house.

I love House Stark. They are just so noble, except Sansa who is so very frustrating but sometimes you just have to know how to play the game. I could go on and on about Robb and Jon. They are just so beautiful. And who doesn’t want an attack wolf?! Arya is going places. That girl has spunk and I am so excited to see what becomes of her.

House Baratheon is ridiculous. Joffrey might actually be the character I hate the most for obvious reasons.

This is how I feel about him.

I have weird feelings about House Lannister. Incest is gross but when we stop and consider how abusive and degrading being Robert’s wife might have been, well it doesn’t seem like the worst alternative. I guess she could have thrown herself out of a tower or something but let’s face it, Jaime is gorgeous. Ugh, I’m still not comfortable with the incest part but let’s just say it was the lesser of two evils while keeping bloodlines clean which is the point. You gotta stay in the game.

Tyrion is my man! I love him so much and he is so good at the game.

And like you need more reasons to love him, the actor himself is pretty amazing. He defends farm animals for crying out loud. And he is so handsome.

House Targaryen is intense. Once Viserys was axed, I was all about this house. Yes, I know they rape people, steal things and it is awful, but that is part of their role in the series and we need to be adults and realize that. Also, Daenerys is probably the most gorgeous woman in the series so far. Even when she ate that heart. I would like to see you try and eat a heart that gracefully.

Plus, the woman has dragons! How much cooler can you get than a hot, dragon trainer. I also think she really balances that house and is striving to make it more commendable. Not that it would take a lot since they are generally horrible people.

Can we just skip House Greyjoy? Thanks. Theon kinda has a rat face and is a creepy sex addict.

Again, not entirely sure how I feel about the entire Night’s Watch. Samwell is hard to watch sometimes. You just want to help him out but then he makes you angry for not getting his shit together.
